Free lawyer advice online
Lawyers are sometimes ok with a free initial consultation or discussion whilst they try to figure out what your case is about and whether they can help; but they would usually want to get paid for doing work. Click here to read an in depth analysis of free legal services in Cape Town.
Online legal consultations are sometimes cheaper than in person consultations and will certainly save you travel time.
Whilst lawyers will usually want to get paid in some way or other; in some cases one can avoid upfront expenses:
- They may be willing to do property-related work if you are appointing them as conveyancers for a property sale; as they will eventually earn their fees when the property sale is registered.
- You can get your will drafted for free often if you appoint the lawyer as the exector of your estate.
- Similarly, estate lawyers may not require an upfront payment if they are appointed exectutors or agents to be paid a fee from the estate. .
